Being able to cultivate the aromatic plants in the garden or on the balcony it gives us the opportunity to have very useful, organic and zero km ingredients in the kitchen. We always use spices such as basil, rosemary, mint, oregano: on pizza, baked potatoes, tomatoes, fish…. both fresh and dried.

Method with dryer trays
Put the twigs to dry using special drying trays, you can also find them on the market in the electric version at very low prices.

Method with oven
In this case you will need to have a gas or microwave oven: in the first case the temperature should not be very high while the microwave must be adjusted to maximum

How to dry basil

  1. Wash the freshly picked leaves then dry them using kitchen paper
  2. Once this is done, remove the stem, chop the leaves with the help of the crescent then place them on a plate and then put them in the microwave
  3. Leave in the oven for thirty seconds at maximum power, possibly repeating the operation until the basil appears dry and crunchy
  4. Once the basil has dried, you just have to put it in a tightly closed glass container.

In this way, all the aromatic herbs that grow at home will keep for up to one year.
