How does the mechanism work exchange on the spot of the excess solar energy produced by our plant and what are the possibilities for selling self-produced electricity.
A goodphotovoltaic systemmanages to offer the right balance between energy produced, stored energy, energy consumed in the home and energyexchanged with the network.Let's clarify immediately that the "I earn" obtained with theexchange on the spotit is only in energy terms. Theexchange on the spot, as well as the accumulation and consumption of self-produced energy, are the key to recovering the investment made for the installation of the domestic system.
Selling solar energy
Those who want to aim for additional earnings that go far beyond the "return on investment in energy terms", rather than talking about exchange on the spot, should aim for online sales. The regime envisaged with theonline saleallows you to sell the photovoltaic energy produced in excess.
With on-site exchange:
- the energy surplus comesloaned to the networkand then be withdrawn at other times with a more or less advantageous rate for both parties.
- The gain obtained with theexchange on the spotit's just energetic.
With the online sale:
- the energy surplus comessold itto the network following different tariffs based on the modelonline salechosen.
- The gain obtained with the transfer of photovoltaic energy to the grid is economic.
In other words, with on-site exchange you don't sells solar energy self-produced and not consumed, but it is loaned to the national electricity grid which will then return it to us at night or when our home is in greater electricity needs.
Who wants sell electricity produced by your own photovoltaic system cannot take advantage of theexchange on the spotbut of the sale on the net. All information on the sale of self-produced solar energy is available in the article entitled"Photovoltaic: online sale".
The exchange on the spot
If, the domestic photovoltaic system hasaccumulators, the excess energy produced comesstoredin large batteries to then be fed into the home electricity grid when needed. In the event of a lack of accumulators, during the night and of low photovoltaic energy production, the energy supply of the house is satisfied by the national electricity grid.
The user buys energy from the grid but does so by taking advantage of a reduced rate dictated by the so-calledexchange on the spot.
They can access theexchange on the spotphotovoltaic systems with a total power that does not exceed 200 kW.
With the exchange on the spot, the energy fed into the grid is withdrawn by the GSE (Energy Services Manager) which will subsequently provide a "partial refund of the bills paid". In other words, it is a form of economic compensation between injections and withdrawals.
The on-site exchange mechanism is simple: on the one hand, the user buys energy from the grid and pays a certain tariff, on the other hand, the same user "sells" clean energy to the grid and charges for it with a contribution on account, in other words, a sort of reimbursement in the bill aptly called "Contribution in Exchange Account". To fully understand the operation and advantages of the exchange on the spot, we propose a practical example:
Giulia produced an energy surplus of 500 kWh and, with the exchange on the spot, fed them into the electricity grid. Giulia's energy surplus has an economic value of 50 euros.
At night, when the photovoltaic system was inactive, Giulia withdrew 200 kWh from the grid, for a value of 22 euros, which, however, are charged double due to charges, taxes and services.
In this way, Giulia injected more energy into the electricity grid than purchased. Giulia thus produced a surplus so, in addition to having a refund of part of the bill paid for the energy withdrawn, she will be entitled to a monetary settlement.
This mechanism is much more different from the concept ofsale of solar energyhypothesized with the regime ofonline sale. For more information on theexchange on the spotwe refer you to the article:
- Exchange on the spot
To access theexchange on the spotit will be sufficient to request it at the same time as the installation of the photovoltaic system. Another advantage to consider is that theexchange on the spotis compatible with therenovation bonusprovided with the packageStability Law 2016.
Those who intend to build a domestic photovoltaic system can take advantage of the deductions for restructuring with a tax relief that amounts to 50% of the cost incurred for the intervention. The remaining 50% of the investment can be amortized in the bill by exploiting self-consumption on the one hand and the system ofonline saleor itexchange on the spot.
